The MB AIOTA invites Occupational Therapists, OT interns and Final Year OT Students to attend the Seminar on
 “Gaming Technology and Habilitation”
(Kinetic, PS & Wii as a therapy tool of Occupational Therapy.)
on 13.03.2015 from 12.30 to 2.30 pm.

About the Topic:
Wii Nintendo, Kinetic and Play Station–eye toy systems have motion sensor games which rely on accurate movements of the player to affect the outcome of the game. Using body gestures or the console's unique, motion-sensitive controller, these games require cognitive processing and body movements similar to those used in traditional therapy exercises. Video games help reduce the monotony of repetitive exercise, making the process more enjoyable.

These gaming devices which are very popular today can be used by an Occupational Therapist to design skilled therapeutic programsfor persons with Developmental, Neurological and Orthopedic Conditions to achieveVisio- motor planning, agility, range of movements, strength, stability and related goals. The inbuilt assessment and recording software can aid a therapist quantify progress of the goals achieved.

Dr. Bijliwala Saifuddin, a Psychiatric Occupational therapist has been working with all age groups of individuals with Developmental Challenges since last 36years. At present he is director of Jump Start Therapy Centres run by Aashish foundation where he offers Occupational therapy using ACTIVITIES to develop functional skills of clients. Seminar on Medico-Legal Aspects of Doctor Patient Relationship

Kind Attention Occupational Therapy Practitioners !

(Kindly note, for few seats remaining, registration
date has been extended till 28th Nov 2014, till 5pm.)
The Mumbai branch of AIOTA welcomes its Members, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Interns, Third and Final year students to attend the seminar on Medico legal Aspects of Doctor Patient Relationship.

This seminar has been planned as a part of our response to the issues, suggestions and feedback expressed during the Occupational Therapy Practitioners Meet.

We hope that by attending this seminar, the Occupational Therapist shall be better informed about their rights and duties from the medico legal point of view. Also it would help clear uncertainties and anxieties about the possible medico - legal challenges that a practitioner could face inspite of best quality of care provided with best intentions for the patient. Do attend as ignorance is  always not bliss.
